Gynaecological cancer center

The most common cancers of the female genital tract affect the uterus, cervix and ovaries. For the women affected and those around them, the diagnosis often represents a profound cut. This makes it all the more important for us to provide comprehensive care and treatment for patients in this situation.

In our interdisciplinary gynaecological cancer center, we rely on the experience of experts from different disciplines to ensure individually tailored and optimal treatment. It of great importance to us to treat patients with empathy and trust.

Surgical treatment is usually the first and decisive step in the treatment of gynecological tumors and is of particular importance in terms of prognosis.

Minimally invasive techniques have replaced open surgery in many areas, particularly for uterine and cervical cancer. These techniques make it possible to significantly reduce the extent of surgery, for example by using the sentinel lymph node technique. Here, only the first lymph nodes in the drainage area of the tumor are removed, which leads to a faster recovery and a higher quality of life.

For young patients who wish to have children, we also offer fertility-preserving operations in the early stages of the disease, which also guarantee a high level of oncological safety.

Our clinic uses state-of-the-art technologies, such as the integrated operating system from Olympus and Karl Storz, which are world leaders in endoscopic medical technology. We are also one of the few training centers for minimally invasive surgery in Germany and the only one in Bavaria with surgeons who have the highest qualification level MIC 3. This certification guarantees maximum precision and safety even for the most demanding procedures.

Cervical cancer (cervical carcinoma)

Cervical cancer is a malignant disease of the cervix that is often caused by an infection with human papillomaviruses (HPV). Around 4.500 women are diagnosed with the disease in Germany every year, although this number is decreasing due to HPV vaccination and preventive examinations. Treatment depends on the stage of the disease. In the early stages, surgical treatment such as conization or hysterectomy is usually carried out, often supplemented by lymph node removal. In advanced stages, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are used. Regular screening examinations are crucial in order to detect and treat early stages and precancerous lesions (CIN) in good time.

Cancer of the uterus (endometrial carcinoma)

Endometrial cancer is a malignant disease of the uterine lining that affects around 12.000 women in Germany every year, mainly postmenopausal patients. The first symptom is often unexpected vaginal bleeding after the absence of menstruation. The diagnosis is usually made using a minimally invasive hysteroscopy with tissue removal. Treatment usually consists of surgical removal of the uterus, ovaries and lymph nodes (sentinel lymphadenectomy). Depending on the stage of the tumor, additional radiotherapy or chemotherapy may be necessary.
